Four Students Awarded Top Academic Honor at December Commencement

FLORENCE, AL – Four graduates from the recent commencement ceremonies at the University of North Alabama received the Keller Key. The Keller Key is awarded at each commencement to graduating seniors who have earned the highest scholastic achievement. Recipients of the award are selected by a committee comprised of faculty, staff, and students.

“This is a significant achievement for our graduates, and the Keller Key represents the highest achievement a student can attain academically,” said Dr. Ross Alexander, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. “It is acknowledgement of the uncommon dedication and work these students exhibited as part of their education at UNA.”

This year’s recipients are:

  • Lori E. Bowers, of Iron City, Tenn., graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. She has a 4.0 grade point average.
  • Alexandra Grace Hopper, of Killen, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication. She has a 4.0 GPA.
  • Larissa B. Huissen, of Kenosha, Wisc., graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She has a 4.0 GPA.
  • Rachel Leigh Kirby, of Gardendale, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a degree in Elementary Education, Special Education Collaborative K-6. She has a 4.0 GPA.
